Mustang Cars – 4th Generation

For 1994, Mustang cars underwent their first major redesign in fifteen years. The design, code named SN-95 by Ford, was based on an updated version of the Fox platform. This time only two body types – both 2-door Mustang convertible and coupe, it featured impressive new styling by Patrick Schiavone that integrated some stylistic fundamentals similar to those of earlier Mustang cars. A convertible model would also return, but the notchback and hatchback body styles used in earlier Mustang cars were not available. Prior to the redesigned Mustang‘s launch, a 2-seater concept car named the Mustang Mach III was shown at the 1993 North American International Auto Show in Detroit and implied how future Mustang cars might look like. Mustang Cars – 3rd Generation

The third-generation of Mustang cars were built on Ford’s ever-present Fox platform. Coming in three different body types, Mustang convertible, Mustang coupe and hatchback, they went through changes on trim levels, and drivetrain combinations during their production life, creating that way an array of sub-models. Mustang cars underwent a versatile revise for 1987 and for a time they seemed fated to be replaced. Mustang Cars – 2nd Generation

The first generation Mustang cars grew in size. The 1973 Mustang had become noticeably larger than the original 64 ½ and 1965 Mustang. Since the early 70s the pony car market sales had started decreasing. Demand was now focusing on lower-priced, fuel-efficient smaller cars.
